1Peter 3:8-22 Suffering for doing good
"THROUGH THICK AND THIN, KEEP YOUR HEARTS AT ATTENTION, IN ADORATION BEFORE CHRIST."
I've had bad times. I'm sure you've had them too. And almost always when something comes up, we break. We fall. We give up. In my case, i let it take over me. Well.. most of the time.
It's hard to understand why we have to go through certain things. Hard to understand why we have to lose the fight sometimes, why we can't seem to find the answers to any of our questions, why everything has to fall apart. Even after everything, I still don't know exactly why but this I do know... that God is faithful ALWAYS.
Have you ever had that time in your life when you're so broken, so much in pain, but everyone seems to be too busy to listen to you? And you just wanna let it all out but you can't cause no one's there? So you end up just sleeping it off or depending on different things to distract you? Well.. there have been so many times in my life where no one would be there for me. I didn't know who to run to. I didn't know who to call. I didn't know what to do. I had no one. Until it dawned on me... that maybe God's letting these disappear so I'd find HIM instead. So i'd run to HIM.
Too often times we fail to acknowledge the presence of God in our lives. We neglect the only Person who would never leave us nor forsake us. We're often distracted by things that get in the way. We're often caught up in all these emotions that we let it control us.
But that's not the way to go... I remember my ate Chrina always telling me before to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. When running a marathon, you fix your eyes on the finish line no matter how far away it seems to be. Not on the people running with you, not on the obstacles that come your way, but right on the finish line.
It should be the same in our lives. Good or bad, we should fix our eyes on Jesus.
"It's better to suffer for doing good than to be punished for doing bad. That's what Christ did definitively: suffered because of others' sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all- was put to death then made alive- to bring us to God."
Whatever you're going through, whatever hardships come our way, He is faithful to deliver us from them all.
Let's fix our eyes on the God who saves.
He is faithful always.
It reminded me so much of the song "You Are For Me". (: God bless your heart.
