We don't wanna live by just going with the flow. We wanna live knowing where He wants us to go. We can't just go on with life thinking "ah, okay lang yan.. fforgive naman ako ni God." If we're really serious about loving Christ, we will be serious in living a new life for Him, too. No more tolerating sin and whatever you KNOW isn't right in your life. If you're serious about this, show it. Live it. Be it.
"And that means killing off everything connected with that way of death: sexual promiscuity, impurity, lust, doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing what attracts your fancy. That's a life shaped by things and feelings instead of by God...."
We should be defined by God. Our identity should reflect Him and not what's in this dying world. YOLO right? You Only Live Once.... So better live it right. This isn't an excuse for us to live however we like. It's a reminder for us to live right.... to live in Christ.
"God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what you put on, wear LOVE. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. NEVER be without it."
While in the States, i had a lot of free time. Free time to think about life before I went there. I realized how I was IN church but not part of it. How I would raise my hand in worship while other things were in my head. How so much passions and dreams were forgotten because of this sin that ruled over my life. There was so much time to kill that God had let my heart break... not because He just wanted to hurt me.. but because He gave me a new one. Only then did I see the point of living for Him and living by His standards. Yes, i'm still very much sinful but sin doesn't rule over my life anymore. God does.
We can't live in sin AND for God. We can only live for one. The decision's yours on who you will let reign over your life.... Please don't let it be sin.
It's not enough a reason for you to choose not to change just because you think you "grew up like this". It's a choice. It's a choice to be grateful despite the storm knowing that God'll put up a rainbow somewhere after. It's a choice to quit something you know is bad. It's a choice to keep your mouth shut when you know you have nothing GOOD to say. It's a choice to be responsible. It's a choice to do what you need to do even when you say your bed's keeping you hostage. It's a choice to love people who don't seem to be so lovable. It's a choice to be patient and kind and forgiving. It's ALL A CHOICE. The real question here is, are you making the right choices in your life?
