That Thing You Do: Day 2

(Psalm 119: 9-16)

"How can a man cleanse His ways? Through Your Word."

Have you ever heard of the term "to find your answers, you have to look inside yourself... so dig down deep."? I don't believe that. I think that the more you dig down deep in yourself, all the more questions you'll just have.

Picture a computer full of viruses. Do you dig down deep to every folder there is to clean it? No. You take them to someone who knows how to clean it, otherwise by doing it by yourself, you'll end up just killing it.

Cause i believe that for everything there is a manual. An instruction on how to use things properly. But what most don't know, there is also a manual for people. This book doesn't just teach us the way of life, it also GIVES us life. Nope, it isn't those diet books or all the self-help books we depend on so dearly. It's the Bible. The book of OUR Creator. I mean, seriously, you wouldn't ask Bill Gates to fix your MacBook, would you? (Though that would actually be fun to do haha). It's the same way with us... we don't look to ourselves cause we'll only see more crap. We look to God- the author of your and my life. Only by digging down deep into His Word will we find the answers to all our questions.

"Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that i might not sin against You."

Whoever wrote this psalm obviously know what he is capable of doing that he wholly depends on God. Receiving Christ in our lives and knowing where we're gonna spend eternity in, does not give us the license to live in sin here on earth.

This is why it is important to read God's Word. Because we need it. We need it to live right. We need it to find the answers we've been searching for. We need it cause it's our only means of survival. We need it because we need GOD.

"I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your Word."

Every word God speaks is true. He's unable to speak lies and is never mistaken. He knows all things as they really are and sees what has happened, is happening and will happen. Since He is responsible for everything, including you and me, all accurate knowledge comes from Him.

We all have our own trials, our own obstacles, we may feel stuck at a place we no longer want to be in, but the Lord says in His word that He will come to your rescue if you just call out to Him. People come and go, but the Lord is faithful to those who love Him. Though we may fail Him, though we may disobey Him, our shortcomings does not define His love and devotion to us.

We need to know what to do to KNOW the right thing to do and to know what to do we need to get into His Word ;) He is not only dependably accurate, but accurately dependable.
